Elle \u00e9tait alors l'une des jeunes snowboardeuses les plus prometteuses de Grande-Bretagne. En 2017, elle \u00e9tait devenue vice-championne du monde Junior lors du Freeride World Tour. Au sein de l'\u00e9quipe de Grande-Bretagne, elle avait \u00e9galement remport\u00e9 une m\u00e9daille de bronze au Festival olympique de la jeunesse europ\u00e9enne en 2017. Un peu partout en Europe, Ellie avait pris part \u00e0 des comp\u00e9titions de boardercross au niveau national et en Coupe d'Europe. Elle avait pour objectif de se qualifier pour le Freeride World Tour et d'am\u00e9liorer son classement dans le circuit de la Coupe du monde de boardercross. \u00c0 terme, Ellie esp\u00e9rait obtenir une place dans l'\u00e9quipe britannique de snowboard pour les Jeux olympiques d'hiver de 2022 \u00e0 P\u00e9kin.\nC'\u00e9tait son but ultime.<\/p>\n<p>Alors qu'elle \u00e9tait une jeune athl\u00e8te issue d'une famille modeste, Ellie a souvent d\u00fb renoncer \u00e0 participer \u00e0 des comp\u00e9titions et \u00e0 s'entra\u00eener par manque de moyens financiers. Elle ressentait et comprenait la pression constante qui s'exer\u00e7ait sur sa famille pour obtenir les fonds n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 ses entra\u00eenements et \u00e0 sa participation aux comp\u00e9titions. Une saison compl\u00e8te d'entra\u00eenement \u00e0 ce niveau de comp\u00e9tition co\u00fbte environ 35 000 \u20ac par an. \u00c0 l'heure actuelle, il n'existe presque aucun dispositif pour prendre en charge les voyages ou le logement des athl\u00e8tes britanniques juniors et ces derniers doivent en plus payer une cotisation pour l'entra\u00eenement.<\/p>\n<p>Quand elle n'\u00e9tait pas sur son snowboard, on pouvait trouver Ellie en pleine nature avec ses amis, sur son VTT, en randonn\u00e9e ou en voyage.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-378 aligncenter\"
